Reunion Letter 2023

Dear Family Members:

I hope this letter finds you all doing well. As we approach the 2023 Moore and Owens Family Reunion, I wanted to remind everyone of some important details.

The cost of attendance for the reunion is $100.00 per family member who is 18 years of age and up, and $50.00 per family member who is between 11 and 17 years of age. Children who are one to ten years of age can attend for free. If you plan to bring a guest, the cost is $50.00 per adult (18 years and up) and $25.00 per guest who is between 11 and 17 years of age. Please make sure to turn in all money to your family representative by June 30th. Jean Mance Masih is the representative for the Moore family, and Cherryl Mance Long is the representative for the Owens family.

The family breakfast at the Dillard House will kick off the reunion on July 15, 2023. Everyone needs to be at the Dillard House by 8:15 am, and everyone will be seated by 8:30 am. After 8:30 am, you will not be served as it becomes too complicated for the servers. Your T-shirt and tote bag will be given out at the breakfast, so please wear your T-shirt to the picnic.

Breakfast at the Dillard House is included in the $100.00 cost for all family members, so your breakfast will have already been paid. However, if you plan to bring a guest to breakfast, the cost is $29.31 per adult who is 17 years of age and up, $22.91 per guest who is between 12 and 16 years of age, and $17.99 per guest who is between 4 and 11 years of age. These prices include taxes, drinks, and tips.

We will have T-shirts and tote bags available for purchase. T-shirts cost $14.00 for sizes small through extra-large, and $15.50 for size 2X and up. Tote bags will cost $4.00 each. I highly recommend that everyone purchase a tote bag to store your T-shirt, itinerary, and other goodies.

Please fill out the enclosed form and return it as soon as possible so we can get an accurate account of T-shirt and tote bag orders, breakfast attendance, and guests.

For lodging, there are motels, Air B&Bs, apartments, and cottages available to rent for a few days, a weekend, or a week. July is a busy month in Clayton, so I suggest reserving your place as soon as possible to ensure the best choices.

We have rented the whole pavilion for the picnic, so there will be plenty of space, seating, and chairs. We will eat and play games for prizes. The itinerary for all events for the three days will be in your tote bags. I am asking for volunteers to help set up and clean up after each event.

Reunion Colors: Pastel Pink, Black, White, and silver (light Grey)

Theme: Two families are tied with one cord of love and history.

Dance Theme: Great Gatspy, roaring 20’s or masquerade party. I have masks for masquerade costume dress in any of the 3 eras.

Sunday Banquet: Any of the 4 reunion colors however none of the following attire: no hip-hop wear, no jeans, no baseball caps, no jogging suit, or sportswear.

Men- please wear dress pants & shirt, suits formal or semi formal wear.

Ladies- skirts, dress, pant suits, formal, or semi formal wear

As we prepare for the 2023 Moore and Owens Family Reunion, I wanted to remind everyone of a few important details.

We kindly ask that you wear specific attire and colors for each event so that our photos will look nice and we won't have every color in the crayon box in the photos. We will have a photographer at each event who will provide a price list and information. Please be courteous to the photographer as they are working within our budget.

We have a family gathering place called Hideaway at Laurel Falls, located at 43 Europe Lane, Clayton, Georgia 30525. This is a great place to relax and mingle while waiting for the next event. The first floor has plenty of space for everyone to mix and mingle, and the upstairs is reserved for those who have rented a room. Please note that the upstairs is off-limits unless you have rented a room there. A family representative will be at the gathering house to let you in, and I will also be there in and out to accommodate you.

After breakfast, you may want to visit downtown Clayton and visit some of the shops on Main Street. It's a great way to spend some time before the next event.

I'm looking forward to seeing each of you at the reunion. It's been a long time since we've been able to gather as a family due to Covid, so let's celebrate and enjoy good spiritual and physical food, friends, fellowship, and making everlasting memories.
